Zehnder Comfo Air Q in Home Assistant

19. October 20247. November 2024 Burkard JoshHome Assistant

i must warn, that the current version v0.3.0 of the mentioned custom component doesn’t work with the current version 2024.11.0 of Home Assistant

Connecting the ventilation system to Home Assistant is of course different from vendor and model.

In my rented house i have a Zehnder ComfoAir Q350. To connect this system to Home Assistant you need ComfoConnect Lan-C, connecting this small device to a ComfoAirQ device is really easy.

It is an already built-in integration for Home Assistant available, which i used several months. That integration is very stable, but has some limitations. it’s possible to see several sensors (temparature, speeds, filter, …) and turn the ventilation on / off or set the speed level (low/medium/high).

But the App for ComfoConnect has additional controls, like setting:

  • bypass mode (auto, on, off)
  • balance mode (balanced, supply only, exhaust only)
  • temperature profile (warm, normal, cool)
  • ventilation mode (auto, manual)

above settings are not available with the built-in integration. To manage them, you need a custom integration, which you can integrate through HACS in Home Assistant.

there is still one option missing, the boost function. perhaps it will be implemented soon.
